French TV channel France 2 during its prime time programme “Sur le front des animaux menacés” showed the pangolin trafficking theme with LAGA and covered the recent crackdown arrest of two military men with 400kg of pangolin scales, as well as a follow-up on a previous arrest of a woman trafficker.

2 soldiers arrested with over 400kg of pangolin scales

More and more law enforcement officials involved in the trafficking of protected wildlife species in Cameroon. 2 soldiers, a sergeant in the army, formerly working with the Presidential Guard, and a navy second class soldier were arrested alongside a wildlife trafficker in Yaounde with over 400kg of pangolin scales.

6 traffickers arrested over 718kg pangolin scales

An international wildlife syndicate was dismantled and 6 suspects arrested with over 700kg pangolin scales about to be exported to Vietnam in a crackdown operation led by wildlife officials and the judicial police of the Littoral region of Cameroon. Among the suspects are 2 Central Africa Republic nationals.

This chimp was rescued from the toilet in the home of 1 of the 3 wildlife traffickers arrested in the South of Cameroon. The baby orphan chimp after rescued by a joined team of LAGA and government authorities at the divisional delegation of forestry and wildlife and the gendarmerie, was given a health care and taken to the Mvogbetsi for a permanent stay.
